Canvas
The workspace in the HUBPL platform is referred to as a canvas. On a canvas, you can open any software widget, then resize and reposition to suit your needs. You can also create a library of canvases that might represent workflows for particular types of engineering analyses. For example, you may want to have RSTRENG+ open alongside a map and corrosion calculations from Pipeline Toolbox. The canvas enables this side-by-side, simultaneous use of analyses from different modules, and all widgets can be kept in sync with the pipe/valve/pump/compressor/other entity being analyzed.
Tutorial Videos
Here are some short videos to help understand the functionality of the Canvas:
- Canvas Overview (47 sec)
- Creating a New Canvas (30 sec)
- Clearing a Canvas (48 sec)
- Cloning a Canvas (2 min 4 sec)
- Setting a Default Canvas (23 sec)
A recommended practice is to keep a default canvas blank and name it “Blank Canvas” since each canvas always saves its most recent configuration. Keeping a blank canvas on hand allows you to do a new calculation/layout without disturbing previously saved canvases that you would like to retain for easy use in the future.
