Entities
Introduction
The HUBPL enables users to upload data about physical assets/infrastructure that need to be analyzed through the Database Import and Map interfaces. Entities are essentially categories of objects &/or events that can be represented as a point, line, or polygon on a map, and are relevant to analyses within the HUBPL. Each entity has a set of pre-defined data fields, called attributes, that can be stored in the asset database. The attributes are used to pre-populate inputs in calculations, as well as to create hierarchies for organizing case histories.
Pipes
The majority of the calculations in the HUBPL are related to pipes, features on (or connected to) pipes, and events related to pipes. Therefore, the pipe entity is hugely important, and connecting to a database of pipe properties can unlock time savings and risk reduction potential.
In the Navigator hierarchies that utilize pipe attributes can be created to aid in finding data and case histories. Examples include:
