Spitzglass
There are two forms of the Spitzglass Equation: one for low pressures (less than or equal to 1 pisg) and one for pressures higher than 1 psig. The low-pressure equation is the following. It was implemented to determine a pressure drop in a pipe segment under various flowrates in a like fashion to the other equations in this manual. This equation has similar accuracy issues as with other distribution system equations. It can be used within the following ranges:

Where:
𝑄 − Flow Rate (FT3/day)
E – Pipeline Efficiency Factor𝑇𝑏 −Temperature Base (°R)
𝑇𝑏 −Temperature Base (°R)
𝑃𝑏 − Pressure Base (psi)
𝐷 − Internal Diameter (in)
𝑃1 − Upstream Pressure (psi)
𝑃2 − Downstream Pressure (psi)
𝐺 − Gas Specific Gravity
Le − Pipe Segment Length including Expansion (mi)
𝑇𝑓 − Gas Flowing Temperature (°R)
𝑍 − Compressibility Factor
